Pulmonary Care

Regency Home Health Care's pulmonary disease management program and home health services strive to ensure you or your loved one receives the care plan best suited to his or her individual needs. Our goals are to significantly improve your ability to manage your condition within the home setting; reduce visits to the emergency room; provide early recognition of appropriate signs and symptoms to allow for faster and easier treatment by your physician if needed; and improve your overall health by controlling risk factors.
Education and experience are an important element of a successful pulmonary disease home health program. As a leading home healthcare provider, we recognize that patients with pulmonary disease need guidance specific to their management of COPD, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia or lung cancer.
Each visit to your home includes a comprehensive pulmonary assessment and education regarding best practice for safe home management of your condition, medication and dietary regimen, as well as proper use of oxygen, CPAP and respiratory equipment.
In addition, our home health nursing staff and clinicians will:

  • Educate and train you and your loved ones about various facets of pulmonary disease
  • Develop and assist you with a customized home health and exercise plan
  • Monitor vital signs and assess you for any early signs of infection
  • Conduct pulse monitoring
  • Provide rehabilitative therapy to assist you with functional limitations and energy conservation techniques
  • Actively involve you in managing you or your loved one's condition

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary Rehabilitation, also called Pulmonary Rehab, is designed to help you control your breathing instead of your breathing controlling you. Any lung disease limits your normal daily activities and our pulmonary rehab program can give you just the right prescription to help you breathe easier. Promoted by the American Lung Association and the American College of Chest Physicians, the main goal of pulmonary rehab is to help you achieve and maintain a level of function that promotes your independence and your ability to care for yourself.

How does Pulmonary Rehab work

Begins after you're discharged from the hospital or it begins with a referral from your physician. This program will teach you to live and breathe better by gaining skills that will help you manage your lung condition. Generally lasting 4 to 8 weeks, some diagnoses include:

  • COPD
  • Asthma
  • Bronchiectasis
  • Emphysema
  • Lung Cancer
  • Pneumoconioses
  • Pulmonary fibrosis
  • Respiratory conditions due to fumes, vapors, external agents
